92 The Church of Our Lady od Špilice – St Mary retable / St Joseph retable The Church of Our Lady od Špilice – St Mary retable / St Joseph retable The church of our Lady of Špilice (Sveta Marija od Špilice) is the church of the former Franciscan monastery from 1483. Today, it is used for parish services and is open to the public during the day (Fig. 144).65 The single nave church with a flat wooden ceiling and the groin-vaulted sanctuary houses 5 retables and several prominent paintings and furniture. Major changes during the 19th-century due to secularisation and abolition of the monastery in 180866 led to the present situation.
